Sennheiser HD205 II DJ Headphones – Good fit over the head

Sennheiser usually makes expensive and elite headphones but there are some budget conscious headphones and Sennheiser HD205 II is a good example of it. The list price of this product is $80 but you can get it for $49 – $59 online. It is made for music enthusiasts and can be used by recording artists and DJs as well. This set has a semienclosed circumaural design and the manufacturer is backing a two year warranty for this headphones.
There is a thick, large vinyl carrying bag and 1/4 inch gold plated adapter which screws inside on the 1/8 inch plug. Construction is quite decent but there is some flex. Longevity is an issue but how the set is used depends on the user. While adjusting the band, I noticed a distinct creaking sound coming from the headphone frame’s left side.
The logo of the company is located on the top in silver. The emblem is silver embossed and is displayed prominently in the right and left hinges. Replaceable pads are circular, black and are made of vinyl. There is clothing inside. You can rotate the right earcup forward to 40 degrees in both the directions for listening with one ear and this setup also keeps the frame of headphones firmly in place. On the outside, there is silver circular design and rest of this frame is all black.
The adjustable headband of the Sennheiser HD205 II is made of hard plastic and is a snug fit on the head. There is adequate padding on the inside of crown and this provides great comfort if you are using it for a long term. I didn’t suffer from any ear fatigue here during extended use. Noteworthy here is that the level of comfort depends on the size of the head. For some, a tight fit might be an issue while other might like it.
The non-detachable, single sided, ten foot long cable exits from left earcup and it terminates at 1/8 inch plug. It is not great for travel but you can roll it up and things will be all good. the cord swivels and this raises some concerns about the security of the cord and the life of the unit.
Sennheiser HD205 II has a semiclosed design that shields well against any ambient noise whether you are in office, street or underground. I couldn’t hear anything nearby while I was using the set.
