We last heard of the Optimus Pro back in July, an inexpensive QWERTY-based Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread phone that was expected to launch in August. Now, it has been listed for pre-order on Flipkart.com, priced at Rs. 9,990. We assume the official launch will follow in the next couple of weeks.
In terms of specifications and price, the LG Optimus Pro competes favourably with the other low-end QWERTY-based Android devices Samsung Galaxy Pro, and the Motorola Fire.
It features an 800MHz processor and 256MB of RAM on the Qualcomm MSM7227T chipset, which also features onboard graphics. Other features include a 3.15MP camera onboard, 3G HSDPA (3.6Mbps), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and hotspot, Bluetooth v3.0, 150MB of built-in storage, and microSD expansion up to 32GB (a 2GB microSD card comes bundled).
