According to Bloomberg reports, Apple Inc will come up with the much delayed white version of its popular smartphone iPhone 4. Citing three sources familiar with the development, the report says that the white version of iPhone 4 might be up for sales in the next few weeks. The white version of iPhone 4 will be available for both AT&T and Verizon customers. It is to be noted that Apple said that it would release the white version of iPhone last spring but failed to ship it alongside the black version which has been up for sales for the past 10 months.
A Challenge To Manufacture
Apple said that manufacturing the white version of the phone has proved to be pretty challenging. Sources ofBloomberg said that the white model’s paint peeling while getting hot has been one of the major factors hindering the company’s plan to come out withthe white version. However, a report published last month said that Apple has changed the material of the film which was used to laminate the phone thereby allowing the company to ship the phones in April.
In the last fiscal quarter Apple sold more than 16 million iPhones breaking its own record.Bloomberg also said that the company instead of unveiling a new iPhone during Developer’s Conference in June plans to show it off in September. It is to be noted that Apple’s iPhone 3GS and iPad 2 are available in white.
